Non-SEO: Favourite Song

October 23, 2006 on 9:22 pm | 5 Comments

I have to admit I love this song called Jenny don’t be hasty by Paolo Nutini. I have loved it for a long time time and I just have to post a live video I found on GooTube.

Some of you will understand why I have a bias towards this song and some wont.

I’m off to get myself in some Esrun now..

Update: For those who saw seoidiots ugly car and wondered which car it was that I liked… It’s the Shelby Mustang! Although I don’t know about spending £15,000 *just* on import costs!

David Naylor has been busy with alot of updates to his blog lately. You should check out his latest post which shows the creation of a threaded data collection tool. You could use this tool to collect articles to be used on a website or many other things. Very good post!

e360insight VS. Spamhaus

October 18, 2006 on 6:26 pm | No Comments

Well I wrote about this a few weeks ago in my ‘spamhaus given $11.7m‘ fine blog post and I actually spoke to David Linhardt from e360insight not that long ago about the case.

e360insight have been trying to enforce the judgement and the most recent example of this was the attempt to have the spamhaus domain suspended.

I find it funny how spamhaus claim that they don’t need to agree to follow U.S laws yet they’re trading within the U.S (they accept ALOT of money from U.S ISPs via Paypal(U.S!) and supply a service to U.S companies. They’re also now actively defending the case which means they have finally realised that this isn’t a joke and they need to answer for their activities.

Software release! [DISY]

October 16, 2006 on 9:38 pm | 8 Comments

Well guys, I’m working on something quite big right now but it’s going to take some time to get completed but trust me… it’s gonna be so worth the wait!

To keep things ticking over I decided it’s about time I released something new, so I present to you DISY which stands for ‘Did I signup yet’. It’s like the bigger brother of DITY which is now a little outdated.
DISY [Did I signup yet?] is a useful piece of software which allows you to automatically signup to phpBB forums with your webaddress in the profile. This will result in automated incoming links to your websites.

Comments or suggestions appreciated :)

I’m getting some flack from blackhatters for releasing this. If software isn’t released then we get stuck in a rut and the industry never advances. One comment was “If it’s making us thousands of dollars a day then who cares?”, when will people learn that money isn’t everything? Money will only provide you with a false happiness, there’s much more important things in life and I for one would much rather see things spice up a bit than make more money which we don’t need. Money is important but it’s not the most important thing in the world. Sure I understand that releasing this doesn’t only effect my own performance but in the long run it’s only going to help those who are serious about BH SEO to adapt and improve.

As for those bitching behind my back in chat rooms, f*ck you. You all need to get real. As for the idiot who thinks this is a unique idea they came up with themselves, let me tell you something… forum spamming has been around for years and this software was written a long time ago, long before I even started talking to anyone in the blackhat community. As for sharing parts of a private chat with me in a open chat room, that’s just low. The little(and I mean little) respect I had for certain people has absolutely been lost now.

Shoemoney Hacked

October 12, 2006 on 1:20 pm | 1 Comment

Well it would appear that Jeremys (Shoemoney) website has been hacked into and is currently redirecting to a virus.
There are many many people creating linkbait lately but for once I don’t think that’s the case here since there are examples of other websites which have been hacked and display the same text. Example: www.zone-h.org/content/view/4464/30/

Although Jeremy could have obviously gone to the effort of looking at previously hacked websites and copied it, I think it’s very unlikely.

After looking around at other sites that have been exploited/”hacked” I’d say this is a general ‘throw as much sh*t at the wall and hope it sticks’ approach and not targetted specifically at the Shoemoney website.

Update from Jeremy(Shoemoney): …it was a phpbb2 that was installed on the box… nice little string to download a perl script to search and replace index.php files owned by the websever…
